What type of screws are suitable for use with wood plastic composite products?

It is recommended to use high quality screws such as stainless steel, hot-dip galvanized, etc. It is especially recommended to use screws with threads, which will help to increase the grip of the screws.

Are there any requirements for the span of the WPC during installation?

Yes, when installing WPC composite products, the joists should not be too far apart. When installing profiles at an angle of 45 degrees to the joists, reduce the spacing of the joists by at least 10 centimeters. Shorter spacings may be required for special applications or under unusual loading conditions - e.g. hot tubs. Do an engineering analysis before installation.

Do I need to leave a gap when installing?

Yes, it is important that WPC products are installed with proper clearance from edge-to-edge and head-to-head, taking into account drainage, sweeping, and slight thermal expansion/contraction.

WPC does not expand and contract due to humid and dry environments, but it will expand and contract to some degree depending on the temperature, so it is important to leave gaps both edge-to-edge and head-to-head, especially when installing in the winter.

Which composite deck board is right for you?

Take your pick from Tercel range of five composite deck boards, of which come in the six most popular colours (grey, teak, chocolate, charcoal and antique). Choose the affordable hollow Essential range, our traditional solid composite Classic range, or upgrade to our second-generation composite decking planks: the hollow capped composite Advanced range or the solid capped Deluxe range composite decking board.

All of our composite decking boards are more durable and longer-lasting than traditional wood. It’s all low maintenance – with no need for painting or staining. Made from an advanced formula of wood fibres and plastic, it looks and feels natural underfoot, but unlike wood, Tercel composite decking boards are resistant to costly problems such as warpage, mould, insect damage and rot.
